activities during that day. The life of students are usually synonymous to a
busy street, as they have to complete different tasks, attend various
activities, and prepare for their everyday academic responsibilities at school.
The active life of a student is not only related to the academic realm because
they also have other activities that they need to attend to. Students who come
from families that are not financially well-off are required to have part-time
jobs in order for them to have extra income to pay for school expenses and
other living costs in college. Being the case, it cannot be prevented that
students are left with many tasks in their hand that can really be
overwhelming. The numerous responsibilities that students have to attend to are
one of the primary reasons as to why they are having difficulties in preparing
for an exam. Nevertheless, by learning to trait of multi-tasking students can
be able to address all the tasks that they need to do and still have the time
to study for their exams.
Multi-tasking involves the ability of an individual to do more than one task at a time. In the life of a student, the usual things that they have to do are: term papers, research papers, and other paper writing assignments. The students should also be prepared for everyday class discussions, especially for the graded recitations that professors will give. In addition, there are some professors who give pop-quizzes in order to see whether the students have really understood the lesson that was taught during the last meeting. Aside from these, students also have to deal with their extra-curricular activities. Students who are members of varsity teams that involve playing a certain sport like basketball need to allot the required time for practice, which often times conflicts with their school work. Moreover, students with part-time jobs have an even bigger responsibility because they have to properly discipline themselves to go to work every day and at the same time go to school and do all the academic responsibilities that they have. To make matters worse, there are actually those students who actually have to deal with all the aforementioned responsibilities namely: school work, extra-curricular activities and part-time job. In such cases, it is really necessary for students to learn how to multi-task. Multi-tasking can be learned by starting doing simple things at the same time like reading notes from class during breaks in your practice or work.
